Currently Panasonic own the market on 3D plasma television sets above the average 50-inch model, being the only manufacturer offering a model above 60-inch. While both Sony and Samsung plan to introduce 60-inch and 65-inch models in the third quarter of the year, Panasonic are preparing to up the ante even more. The 152-inch TH-152UX1 we looked at last month will be released in time for Christmas this year, alongside what technically qualify as ‘smaller’ models that still dwarf the offerings from Panasonic’s competitors: the TH-103VX200U and the TH-85VX200U, impressive 103-inch and 85-inch plasma displays respectively. Monday, May 24th, 2010It was only a matter of time with all the hype surrounding 3D TV, but the first 3D computer game is set to be unveiled shortly by Sony. The sequel to the popular Playstation 3 title, Killzone 2 is set to be released in full 3D. Press releases claim that this literally adds a whole new dimension to game play making the experience far more immersive and exhilarating for players. However, enjoying this experience in your own home is not going to be cheap as you’ll obviously require a 3D TV and the accompanying set of 3D glasses to get the most from the game. Go Digital With Cheap LCD TVs
Monday, April 12th, 2010The digital switchover has begun and gradually more and more regions of the UK are losing their analogue TV signal. There is now no analogue signal in Wales and the rest of the UK is following over the next year or two, so many people will be looking at replacing there television altogether rather than just getting a set top box or subscribing to Sky or Virgin. After all there is not much point in having much clearer digital signals, giving the possibility of much greater picture detail, if your television is 20 years old. (more…)
Bigger Is Better For Cheap Plasma TVs
Thursday, March 25th, 2010Panasonic have recently unveiled an unbelievably small HDTV with a minuscule 10” screen and a built in Blu-Ray player. We like to keep on top of the latest developments in technology here at Cheap LCD TV, but we’re not sure this is quite our cup of tea! Whilst miniaturisation might be all the rage for mobile phones and MP3 players we’re not sure the concept translates well to the world of TVs!
