3DTV Finally Dropping in Price?

We’ve lamented the high costs of 3DTVs frequently in this blog. Their price combined with the fact there is very little 3D content available at the moment is causing a lot of consumers to turn their nose up at the idea of shelling out of the new technology.

However, one of the UK’s leading electronics retailers, Comet in a bid to get 3DTVs moving off their shelves has made a heavily discounted package deal available from their stores across the country. The bundle includes at 40” Samsung 3DTV, one of the more highly acclaimed models, a Samsung 3D Blu-Ray player and three pairs of 3D glasses for the just under £1000. This offers great value for money as consumers will be saving more than £500 by investing in this deal rather than paying for the components individually.

Comet seems to be fairly confident that the package deal will be flying off the shelves, but will consumers really go for this just because it’s cheap? Many people have recently bought new cheap LED TVs thanks to the numerous promotions that were available during the World Cup, so the market for new TVs at the moment is potentially not as strong as it was during the last couple of months. Also, although Comet have managed to deal with the expense of 3DTV that was putting many consumers off investing in the new technology there is also the fact that there isn’t a great deal of 3D content currently available.

Nevertheless, if you’re one of those people who simply must get hold of the latest technology as soon as it becomes commercially available then this deal may present you with the perfect opportunity to get your hands of a whole host of 3D technology for a comparatively low price.
