In the standard 50Hz PAL system, DVD movies or broadcasted TV shows cannot avoid flickering when displayed on TV. To solve this problem, most TV companies use the method of showing the same image twice, making pseudo-100Hz. However, there are still not enough frames for the eye to see a continuous image. As a result, the viewer sees jerky or blurry images on a PDP TV, especially for fast moving images or captions. Samsung\'s solution to this problem is Smooth Motion Driver, which adds ten extra frames per second from its original source.
