Ever since they introduced the first commercial LCD television back in the late 80s, Sharp have constantly innovated in this field and the new LC40LE821E 40-inch screen is no exception, with unique four colour technology and a recording function.
To offer outstanding colours and richness, Sharp's Aquos Quattron televisions add an additional yellow sub-pixel to the standard RGB colour matrix, producing shades never seen before on a television screen. The Aquos LC40LE821E has an edge LED backlight to allow for accurate illumination, creating much darker blacks and richer colours.
This Aquos Quattron set has 100Hz technology, means that the picture will always be pin-sharp, even for rapid onscreen movement, making this television great for fans of action films or fast moving sports. It is slimmer than a traditional LCD set as well, as the new LED backlighting technology takes up much less space in the casing, not to mention using less energy than older sets. It also has a contemporary-looking seamless front design, so it'll make a great centrepiece in whatever room you decide to place it.
The LC40LE821E has a built in Time Shift function, which allows you to record up to 60 minutes of HD television or 150 minutes of standard definition footage onto the television's internal memory.
This Aquos Quattron is capable of displaying a Full HD 1080p picture, so it is ideal for the latest range of top end Blu-ray players, games consoles and HD cable and satellite receivers. Four separate HDMI connectors (including one that uses HDMI 1.4) allow you to plug in a number of high definition devices, and an added USB connection permits you to play video and music or watch pictures direct from your computer, laptop or phone. Built in DLNA home networking means your television will communicate easily with your home network.
The LC40LE821E also comes with a built in Freeview tuner, so you can just plug in to your existing aerial, and experience dozens of free-to-air terrestrial digital TV and radio channels
